So many of us here in the United States are fortunate. We never have to worry about having clean water for drinking, bathing or cooking. But did you know that 2 MILLION of our fellow Americans do NOT have access to clean water? Or that the World Health Organization estimates that 785 MILLION people in the world have no access to a basic water service? Or even worse, that 2 BILLION people worldwide use drinking water that is contaminated by fecal material?
Even a Princess can do it! When I first started gardening after I retired, I didn’t even know what compost WAS or what it was used for. COMPOST is organic material that, you guessed it, is decomposed! You put in in the soil where it acts as fertilizer, providing plants with nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It “fluffs up” the soil so it is well aerated; plants like this!
When I first started trying to create a more eco-conscious and lifestyle, I was confused and overwhelmed. Where to start? How was I going to sort scientifically based facts and recommendations from junk information? How was I going to wade through all the information available on the internet? What was reasonable to do? I was pretty much paralyzed by too much data and too little knowledge.
